Upon leaving Morumbi, the Tricolor’s number 9 spoke about his new goal scored against the Carioca rivals, recalled a missed opportunity, and also praised Flamengo’s chances of winning the Brasileirão title.
“Today I was lucky to score a goal. It’s nice to score against a big team. It’s always beautiful. I had missed a header that I don’t usually miss, but five to 10 minutes later I had another chance and was able to score. It helped us win,” he said.
“The most important thing is not who scores, but that São Paulo wins. We played a great game, winning against a rival that will fight for the Brasileirão until the last rounds,” he added.
In 2024, Calleri has played 34 matches, having found the net on 12 occasions, with four other assists.
