The Forces vives de Guinée are once again calling on the populo to take to the streets on May 17 and 18. They thus intend to push the junta to respond favorably to their various demands. On the Enco5-Wanindara-T6 axis, a precarious calm reigns there.

Last week, the Wanindara district vibrated to the rhythm of the scuffles between demonstrators who responded to the call of the Living Forces of Guinea and farces of order. This May 17, the area is calm. There is not a shadow of any protester on the main track. No regroupings inside the district either. Between the Enco5 and T6 roundabouts, no less than twenty vehicles, most of them from the army, are visible. At the Carrefour-market, the hottest corner of Wanindara, instead of the cops and pandores, it is the thugs, toys in hand, who are on the front line. Same scenario at the roundabout of the T5 where eight vehicles including 5 of the army watch over the area. They prevent any grouping. Unusually, army vehicles are now visible even between the Wanindara-rails gendarmerie and the crossroads roundabout N°6 (T6).

At the T5 roundabout, 3 pick-ups from the BAC at the T5 and other army chugs (armoured, 12-7 pick-ups). There are nearly a dozen of them going back and forth here and there, with agents on board, armed to the teeth.

In this area, commercial activities are paralyzed. Only a few window dressers are at Enco5. Traffic is very fluid.

In Wanindara, it is not only the militarization of the area that would have frightened the demonstrators. Since yesterday, notables in the neighborhood have been hard at work to dissipate the tension. A meeting with young leaders of the district, on the morning of this Wednesday, would have resulted in the renunciation of all forms of violence in the district. The sages would also have gotten defense and safety pranks that the latter only stay on the main lane. They take care of the interior of the district: “We are fed up with what is happening here. In Wanindara, it is not our children who demonstrate. Young people come from elsewhere to wreak havoc. We decided to get up to say: stop! We told the police to stay on the main road, we will take care of the neighborhood,” said Amadou Bah, one of the neighborhood elders.
