Calusac language courses for September and October 2024
He Language Learning Center of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala ―CALUSAC― has opened registrations for its language courses corresponding to the fourth quarter of 2024. Las Classes will be held during September and Octoberoffering access to learning multiple languages and levels both virtually and in person. This flexibility allows students to continue their learning in the way that best suits their needs and availability.
The following are the details of Courses and levels available at the Central Campus of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala ―USAC―some are taught during the week and others on weekends. Visit the website for detailed information on class schedules and courses available at regional locations.
Languages by level and modality
- English:
- In-person: Levels 1 to 7, 9, 10 and 12.
- Virtual: Levels 1 to 16 and Pre-TOEFL 1 to 4.
- German:
- In-person: Levels 2, 3, 4 and 19.
- Virtual: Levels 1 to 4 and 13.
- Korean:
- In-person: Levels 4 and 8.
- Virtual: Levels 1, 4, 7, 12 and 16.
- French:
- In-person: Levels 4, 8 and 16 (the latter in the CUM Building).
- Virtual: Levels 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 17.
- Hebrew:
- In-person: Levels 1 to 27 (Sundays).
- Virtual: Levels 1 to 27.
- Italian:
- In-person: Level 4.
- Virtual: Level 4.
- Japanese:
- In-person: Levels 2 and 4.
- Virtual: Levels 3 and 4.
- Latin:
- Mandarin:
- In-person: Levels 1 to 22.
- Portuguese:
- In-person: Levels 2 and 4.
- Virtual: Levels 1, 2, 4 and 8.
- Russian:
- Virtual: Levels 1 to 16.
Important dates and registration process
Registration will be open from August 19 to September 8, 2024, and classes will begin on September 2, 3, 7, and 8, depending on the chosen day.
You can register online or visit USAC’s S-13 Building for assistance with the process. These are the steps you must follow to register for courses offered by Calusac:
- Enter to
- Register and log in to the portal.
- Click on “CALUSAC” and then on “CALUSAC Registration”.
- Choose the corresponding category and complete the registration form, attaching the requested documents.
- Generates the payment order.
- Make the payment at any Banrural, Bantrab or G&T branch or virtual bank within three days to secure your spot.
- Once the paperwork has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an email confirming your assignment.
- Generates the allocation receipt.
In case of doubts or inconveniences during the registration process, CALUSAC offers assistance through its virtual office, whose availability dates can be consulted on its Instagram or Facebook page.
Course costs
Costs vary depending on the language, level and whether you are a USAC student or a member of the general population:
- Single registration: Q 50.00.
- Bi-monthly English course (Levels 1 to 12): Q 140.00 for USAC students and Q 290.00 for the general population.
- Bi-monthly English course (Levels 13 to Pre-TOEFL 4): Q 290.00 for USAC students.
- Bi-monthly Mayan language course: Q 65.00 for USAC students and Q 115.00 for the general population.
- Bi-monthly course of other languages: Q 290.00 for students and general population.
