There are five patterns A to E. One pattern is the one you are looking for. All others have exactly one error compared to the pattern we are looking for.
Take your time.
To solve the puzzle, we can simply compare each pattern with all other patterns.
Let’s start with field A and field B. If field A were the one we were looking for, field B could only deviate from field A in one point.
That would be correct in this case.
Now let’s compare field A and field C.
If field A were the one you were looking for, field C could only deviate from field A in one point.
But that is not the case. Two fields differ here. So field A cannot be the pattern you are looking for. Neither does C.
We move on to what if B was the pattern we were looking for. We have already compared fields B and A. If we now compare fields B and C, we see that they differ in two points, so field B cannot be the pattern we are looking for either.
Accordingly, all three top fields are canceled. But what about field D?
Compared to field C there are again two deviations. So we excluded pattern D.
Therefore, pattern E must be the solution.
A quick check: Field D to Field A actually has a discrepancy. The same applies to field B,
Feld C
and field D.
