Naoussi Fongang Belinda, 22, from Bafoussam, lost his lower and upper limbs following an electrocution accident caused by a faulty electrical installation at ENEO, an electricity distribution company in Cameroon.

Four years after the tragedy, Belinda fights to survive

A victim of blatant injustice, Belinda received only a partial prosthesis and unfulfilled promises from ENEO. The young woman, forced to sell kibble to meet her needs, begs for justice and assistance.

ENEO, a company with heavy liabilities

This case is not isolated. ENEO is regularly accused of negligence, incompetence and lack of respect towards its customers. Power grid failures, fires, fatal accidents, incorrect billing, untimely outages, the list of grievances is long.

A failing justice system

Despite numerous complaints and demonstrations of anger, ENEO victims struggle to obtain justice. The slowness of legal procedures, corruption and lack of resources constitute major obstacles.

A call to mobilization

Belinda’s story is a cry of distress that calls out to the collective conscience. It is time to put an end to ENEO’s impunity and demand concrete measures from the Cameroonian authorities to:

  • Ensuring the security of the electricity network
  • Protect populations from the risk of electrocution
  • Ensure adequate care for victims
  • Reform the judicial system to guarantee access to justice

Solidarity is the only weapon in the face of injustice

By sharing Belinda’s story and calling on the authorities and ENEO on social media, we can push for justice to be done and victims’ rights to be respected.
