The Bahía de Brasil presented this Tuesday the Uruguayan Camilo Cándido who already joined the training sessions after being loaned from Nacional until July 2024 with an option to buy.

“Camilo has been bringing experience, as well as solidity and balance, to his position on our team,” said Cadu Santoro, soccer director of the northern institution: “a player called up to the national team, who also fulfills other functions in the field, and was chosen one of the best players of the last season in Uruguay.

For the 28-year-old player, it is the second experience outside the country after his previous stay in San Martín de San Juan. He also acted in Los Albos, Liverpool, Rampla Juniors and Juventud de Las Piedras.

In Bahia, Cándido will meet again with Nicolás Acevedo, a 24-year-old central midfielder with whom they were teammates. Together they won the Intermediate Tournament with Liverpool in 2019 and now they will seek to keep Salvador’s team in the Brasileirão, which is 16th with 13 points and seeks to escape the relegation zone.

Cándido played 96 official matches for Nacional since his debut in April 2021 and scored seven goals, including two in classic matches. He won the 2021 Uruguayan Super Cup and the 2022 Uruguayan Championship, in addition to the Clausura and Intermediate 2022.
