The singer’s travels are so many that he has experienced curious anecdotes at airports. One happened to him with an immigration police officer. «What a good thing! When you arrive from a flight from Latin America that lasted nine hours, you are not at your best. I arrived and the officer looks at me and tells me that I look like an artist who sings. He told me: What’s more, I think the guy even has a mustache. And he looks at the passport and sees that I am Colombian. ‘It can’t be a coincidence,’ he commented. And he looks at the name and says: And on top of that your name is Camilo! Then a kid came up to me and asked for a photo, and the police officer went blank,” he noted, laughing.
In the United States, Camilo was almost kicked out of his own concert. «I don’t usually wear the accreditation bracelet so as not to go on stage with it. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, the security guy sees me passing without the bracelet and tells me in English that I can’t pass. And I, who half stutters and speaks twice as much English, didn’t know how to explain myself. He wouldn’t leave me and he was already grabbing me to throw me out. I already saw myself outside. “Someone from production saw me and rescued me,” he said. Although the most extraordinary event happened to him in Uruguay. «That story is very particular. I was at a concert and there was a boy who never looked at me. There was a girl next to him who had her back to me. It seemed like they were arguing. In the end, my camera showed me a video in which the girl was giving him subtitles in sign language. And he lived the concert like that. We got the phone and invited him the next day because he wanted to know what he was feeling. The guy, whose name is Nacho and is profoundly deaf, told me that he wanted to touch my neck to feel the vibrations when I sing. It is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. And I sang ‘Millones’ to him because he came up to me. The boy got excited and asked me if he had read a letter he had sent me. I hadn’t read it. Then I read it and it said that ‘Millions’ was the topic with which he felt most identified. I didn’t know it when I sang it to him. “It was something spiritual, supernatural,” he discovered.
