Lawyer Ely will travel by Brazilian Air Force plane and disembark in Rio de Janeiro

Campo Grande lawyer Ely Silveira, 35 years old, is about to free himself from the nightmare he experienced in Israel. Finally, he managed to board at around 10:30 am, this Wednesday (11), on the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) plane. The trip lasts 14 hours, meaning it is expected to arrive in Brazil at 00:30.
“The flight is to Rio de Janeiro. In fact, for now, I’m not going to Campo Grande. I still don’t know where I’m going, my parents told me to go to Campo Grande to rest, my sister told me to go to rest at her house, in Floripa. I haven’t decided yet,” she says.
Ely had been staying since last Monday (2) at the house of his Brazilian uncles, who have lived in Ashkelon for over 20 years. As he was on vacation, he planned to travel to Croatia, on Saturday (7), in the morning, leaving Tel Aviv airport, located on the Israeli coast. That same day, attacks began with the Palestinian group Hama.
As a result, the flight was changed to Sunday (8) night and then canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday night.
However, Ely says that on Monday (9), the company sent him a message to look for the Brazilian embassy and check options for leaving the country.
“During this period I had already realized that the company was very uncertain, and I signed up for FAB on Sunday and today, thank God, my turn has arrived”, he celebrates.
The lawyer says that the airport where he was located has advanced security, with an anti-missile defense system and a warning system with sirens.
This is the third time that the Campo Grande native, who now lives in the interior of Santa Catarina, has traveled from Brazil to Israel. “My image of Israel will not change and I will not be afraid to return. We know that there is always a risk,” he says.
The conflict – The territorial dispute between Palestinians and Jews has been going on for decades, with historical and religious milestones. The restart came when the Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday.
The Israeli government has declared war and is carrying out retaliatory operations. It is considered the largest armed conflict in the region in recent years. There is no record of Brazilian victims of the attacks, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
