CAN-2021 qualifiers (Gr.E): the double confrontation against the Central African Republic is “crucial” for the rest of the qualifications (Halilhodzic)
Casablanca – The double confrontation between Morocco and the Central African Republic, for the 3rd and 4th days of the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2021) qualifiers, “constitutes a crucial moment” for the rest of the competition, assured the national coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, on Thursday.
“This is a crucial moment for the rest of the qualifications, because after these two matches, we will observe a long break until next March. We are almost qualified for the next CAN, but two victories will serve us enormously on the moral and mental level and will give us more desire to continue our progression”, declared the national coach to the press, shortly before the start of the last training gallop of the Atlas Lions which took place at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca.
“The situation we are going through is very particular, punctuated by the absence of the public and the usual atmosphere (…), in addition to all the obligations and restrictions imposed and the tests carried out”, regretted Halilhodzic, noting that he demanded from the players “extreme motivation and total application”.
