CAN-2023/Morocco-DRC Match: CAF Appeals Commission cancels Walid Regragui’s suspension
Abidjan – The Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to cancel the four-match suspension, two of which were suspended, of national coach Walid Regragui, following the clashes that occurred at the end of the Morocco-DR Congo match (1-1) counting for the 2nd day of the group stage of group F, within the framework of the African Cup of Nations football (CAN 2023).
“The CAF appeals committee also annulled the fine previously imposed on the national coach. It took this decision after hearing the arguments of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF),” the Federation said on its website.
The CAF disciplinary committee decided last Wednesday to suspend Walid Regragui for four matches, two of which were suspended. Regragui had followed the Morocco/Zambia match from the stands of the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro.
In the round of 16 of the CAN, the Moroccan selection will face its South African counterpart, next Tuesday (9:00 p.m.) at the Laurent Pokou stadium.
