93 days before the opening match, the draw for CAN 2024, which will be held in Ivory Coast, took place this Friday evening. With distinguished guests like Sadio Mané, Achraf Hakimi and Didier Drogba, the 24 teams qualified for the CAN know their opponents. This draw was not too cruel, for example not offering a death group. Even if Senegal or Tunisia are not spoiled.

Normally, barring disaster, the big nations should get through this first round without any problems. The host country, Ivory Coast, will face Nigeria and the two Guineas, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. The defending champion, Senegal, should also do well even if it crosses paths with Cameroon and Guinea. Finally, the African heroes of Morocco, semi-finalist of the last World Cup, inherited DR Congo, Zambia and Tanzania.

The competition will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in the five cities, Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro and Yamoussoukro. The next two editions of the CAN will take place in Morocco in 2025 and in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in 2027.
