“It was truly a team effort. The lab techs had portable heaters in the room at one point. The hospital staff helped stabilize his airway with compressors. Even the nurses ran for microwave water to help warm him up. We had support from the team in London the entire time that treatment took place,” he said. The doctor had said.
Feb. On the 6th, Whelan was discharged from the hospital. He is now recovering at home. As it will take about two weeks for the child to fully recover, the family expressed a desire to care for him at home.
A doctor had said that it was the combination of skill, determination and teamwork of the medical team that saved the child’s life that brought Velan back to life that day. And he said, “That child overcame the odds. Everyone worked well together. And the transition between the different stages of his treatment was seamless. Everyone used their skills. We really worked as a team.”
