Canada to issue temporary visas to Palestinian refugees with relatives in the country; Malaysia bans ships with ties to Israel

Toronto: Canada has announced that it will grant temporary visas to residents of Gaza who have relatives in Canada. Canada’s Immigration Minister Mark Miller announced on Thursday that temporary visas will be issued to Palestinian refugees who have relatives in Canada. But Canada does not guarantee that visa holders can be safely transported out of Palestine. Temporary visas will be issued to Palestinian refugees from January 9.

Until then, efforts are being made to evacuate 660 Canadian citizens and their families in Gaza, Mark Miller said. Canada explains that temporary visas are issued to parents, grandparents, siblings, and grandchildren of those in Canada. The duration of this temporary visa is up to three years. It is not known how many people will apply for this, but the Canadian government is estimating that hundreds of people will use this opportunity.

At the same time, Malaysia has announced a ban on ships originating from Israel and owned by Israel. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on Wednesday that the ban on ships with ties to Israel has been announced. Malaysia’s action is explained as not showing a humanitarian approach to the Palestinian people. The move comes after the death toll in Gaza rose and protests in support of Palestine became common in the country. In announcing the announcement, the Prime Minister of Malaysia stated that the current violence is cruelty towards the Palestinian people.

The developments come amid ongoing violence in the Middle East, with tensions rising in Gaza and the West Bank. The Canadian government’s decision to issue temporary visas to Palestinian refugees and Malaysia’s ban on ships with ties to Israel reflects the international community’s growing concern over the situation in the region.
