The fire currently ravaging the Spanish island of Tenerife is “probably the most complicated of the last 40 years” on the Canary archipelago, the president of the regional government said on Thursday. More than 3,200 ha have been destroyed by the flames since Tuesday evening. The fire is raging in a wooded area and ravines in the northeast part of the island, located off the west coast of Africa. More than 250 firefighters are mobilized against the flames.
