Avinasi: A public notice has been issued in the government offices regarding the cancellation of useless house leases issued by the government.
In previous years, free housing plots were allotted and housing pattas were also given to homeless poor and poor people under the Adi Dravidar and Backward Welfare Department.
Some have even sold the belt they got to others. Some people have settled in other places instead of building a house in the place where the lease was obtained. In some places the leased areas are occupied by neighboring land owners.
Arrangements are underway to cancel unused house titles as a ‘check’ on those involved in such activities.
Taluka-wise, a list of those who have received free housing permits and are not living in that place has been prepared and published as a public notice in the Taluka office, Panchayat and Borough offices.
If it is not possible to identify the persons in the list, the license will be canceled and allotted to the eligible candidates, the revenue department said.
