The traffic jams caused by the remodeling of Colosio Avenue that connects with the Cancun International Airport are forcing passengers to plan their trips well in advance.

Airlines such as Volaris have recommended, through social networks, that travelers arrive four hours in advance if they are international flights and three if they are domestic.

The airlines also recommend taking alternate routes such as Avenida Huayacan, López Portillo, Av. 135 and Cancún – Mérida.

According to federal authorities, it is estimated that the Colosio remodeling works in Cancun will be ready until the end of 2023.

Leaders of different business chambers are waiting for the governor-elect, Mara Lezama, and the current governor, Carlos Joaquín González, to approve a marketing campaign that seeks to reduce the impact of traffic among tourists and suppliers due to the rehabilitation works of the Boulevard Colosio, as reported REPORTUR.mx (Cancún: companies ask Lezama and Joaquín for measures due to road chaos).
