Meanwhile, the Group 4 exam results which were awaited for 8 months were released on March 24. In this, the marks obtained by the candidates in the Tamil language qualification paper and the overall marks were published. Also, the candidates’ overall rank (Overall Rank) and caste-wise reservation rank (Communal Rank) have also been published.

In this situation, there have been complaints from the examinees that there are some irregularities in the marks given to the examinees. In particular, both the overall rank and the caste-wise rank of a candidate who scored higher overall in the exam should be lower than the lower scorer. If so only the candidate with the highest marks can get ahead in the ranking. But the lowest scorer ranks lower overall and castewise than the highest scorer.

As a result, the person with the highest score is in the background and the one with the lowest score can take the top position in the ranking. Candidates say that this has happened due to a mistake in the evaluation by the examination board.

In the past, the examination board published the rank list with the candidates’ record. Following the discovery of irregularities in Group 4 examination in 2019, it has now stopped publishing the rank list with roll number. This calls into question the credibility of the examination board and lacks transparency, according to those preparing for the competitive examinations. The irregularities in the exam results which are published after 8 months are shocking to the candidates.
