The Canet Rock audience was able to dance, sing and jump again without a mask, distance or antigen test this Saturday after last year’s medical experiment. The start was given at 6 pm by the Santandreu duo Ginestà, who reviewed some of the ‘hits’ of their new album ‘Suposo que l’amor és esto’. The group led by brothers Júlia and Pau Serrasolsas has started their performance with the song ‘Somnis’ and has shelled out some of the most danceable songs from their third album that revolves around love and relationships as ‘Eyes of’ hazelnut ‘or’ The Last Dance ‘. The desire to party and to see the sun rise in the more than 12 hours that the festival will last is palpable among the very young public.

Canet Rock, which according to its director, Gemma Recoder, is the “main festival of Catalonia”, has sold out the 25,000 tickets for this year’s edition, which cost 36 euros until February 24 and 43 euros later . In fact, access to the festival by car is almost impossible, as this municipality of the Maresme has been collapsed by the avalanche of people who have arrived in recent hours.

Various components of TV3’s Eufòria program have been seen among the public and it is rumored that they could go on stage with one of this year’s headliners.

After Ginestà, the Balkan Paradise Orchestra from Barcelona took to the stage. A Balkan female folk band that this Saturday has performed for the first time in Pla d’en Sala playing eleven wind instruments. The public has been infected by its joy and celebration thanks to its passion for the Balkan tradition and its elaborate choreography. Although this band of ten girls has a mostly instrumental repertoire, it has also given voice to some songs, such as a released version of ‘La Masovera’. He has also presented his first track with his own lyrics, ‘Aux’, in which he claims to be a stray bullet.

Who has also premiered at Canet Rock is the group Marcel i Júlia. A cheerful and constructive proposal on climate change and sustainability that has made attendees vibrate. Some of the members of the band played at home because they are former members of Txarango and had already played several times at Canet Rock. The band has started their performance with the song ‘Better with you’ from the album ‘In orbit’ (2021). The song wants to make an x-ray of the great challenges we have as individuals and as a society, using the analogy between love for a person and love for the planet. He has been followed by songs like ‘T’ho dic a mi’ or ‘Un bon dia’, two songs that are also on the last album of this band and that have made the hundreds of people who have danced and chanted the lyrics followed.
