Saltillo restaurants obtained about 15 percent higher profits compared to 2022, according to Éder López, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) in the capital of Coahuila.

In an interview for Vanguardia, the businessman explained that last was a “very busy” weekend for members of the Chamber in which good sales were obtained.

He explained that this year it was positive that December 24 fell on a Sunday because that helped strengthen sales, also explaining that between 70 and 80 percent of the establishments closed this Monday the 25th.

“Many restaurants take this day to give all the staff a rest, it really has been a busy December. On the 25th and the first we took the opportunity to rest and give people rest,” she explained.

López also pointed out that although there is no estimate of the economic benefit obtained this weekend, profits of one billion pesos are expected for this month of December.

The businessman also highlighted the opening of 20 new restaurants affiliated with the chamber in 2023, a number that is also expected for the coming year.

“This speaks of the importance of Saltillo in our state and also the north of the country as a safe city, a city that is constantly growing. Now with all the companies that are being implemented in the city, it helps us to continue opening restaurants here in the city,” said Éder López.
