Cannabis cultivation: Royal Grace will allow massive adherence of farmers to the regulatory process (DG of ANRAC)

Rabat – The Royal Pardon for the benefit of persons convicted, prosecuted or wanted in cases related to the cultivation of cannabis will allow a massive adhesion of farmers, producers and cultivators of cannabis to the regulatory process, given their expertise in the field, indicated, Tuesday in Rabat, the Director General of the National Agency for the Regulation of Activities Relating to Cannabis (ANRAC), Mohamed El Guerrouj.

In a statement to the press, Mr. El Guerrouj stressed that this High Royal initiative marks “a key step” and “a turning point towards the elimination of illicit areas and crops”, gradually replacing them with legal crops and alternative activities.

Testifying to the generosity and high concern of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, towards this category, the Royal Grace will bring serenity and tranquility to these farmers and this local population, in the face of the various concerns often expressed on the ground during the various meetings with the Agency, he noted.

This High initiative, continued Mr. El Guerrouj, will also allow opening new economic opportunities for the local population and the private sector, national or international, in addition to improving the income and living conditions of this same population, within a legal and structured framework.

It will also allow the cannabis regulation and legalization program to take a new step towards the success of this project, he said.
