For him, the royal pardon will bring peace not only to the farmers concerned, but also to their families. “In our work as an agency, we have regularly encountered the anxiety that befalls farmers and their loved ones. Thus, this royal pardon takes on a deeply human dimension,” underlines Mr. El Guerrouj.

He further added, “The atmosphere of peace created by this royal initiative will undoubtedly strengthen the cannabis regulatory process, leading to greater support from farmers for this national project.”

According to him, the membership of the pardoned farmers will be an asset to the development of the legal sector, with their long experience and expertise actively contributing to the development of a sustainable cannabis industry in Morocco.

“This amnesty also marks a major inflection point that should lead to the elimination of illicit crops, while replacing them with legal agricultural and non-agricultural alternatives,” says ANRAC’s Director-General.

He also believes that this major change will open up new perspectives for the population of the respective sectors, as well as for investors, whether Moroccan or foreign. He assured that this will create a socio-economic dynamism aimed at guaranteeing a dignified existence for farmers and their families within a transparent, legal and structured framework.
