Can’t accept Sinhala language invitation!

by time news

Mano Ganesan has sent an e-mail to the Special Presidential Commission in Tamil saying that the summons of the Special Presidential Commission brought by the Kohuwala Zonal Police Station would be sent in Tamil only as it was in Sinhala and he could not accept it and attend the hearing until then.

Commenting on this, he said, “The investigations of this special Presidential Commission have been going on for a long time. Several opposition MPs have been invited several times. I was not invited.

In this situation now I am suddenly called. I do not know why this sudden call. The president had recently spoken in a style that could use his two-thirds majority to convict and punish the entire cabinet of the previous regime. Its expression is unknown.

This call is in Sinhala only. Accepting this, I have declared that the Special Presidential Commission will not be able to come to the hearings.

I also point out that the Commissioners of the Special Presidential Commission, who sent me this invitation in Sinhala, have violated Article 4, Article 22 (2), (a) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka.

As you know that I am a Tamil, you are the co-official language of Sri Lanka. I have pointed out to this Special Presidential Commission that you have failed to communicate with me in Tamil and have violated the provisions of the Constitution.

In any case, first of all, let the invitation of this Special Presidential Commission be in Tamil. Then I will meet with inquiries if necessary. But even there, they have to write and record my confession in Tamil without error. ”
