As people are slowly turning towards CNG and electric cars due to the increase in petrol prices, Maruti is planning to launch a strong hybrid variant of its Swift and Dzire cars that will provide more mileage. This car is expected to be released from the year 2024.

Recently, Maruti introduced Toyota’s 1.5-litre petrol strong hybrid engine in its Grand Vitara. This car gives a mileage of 27.84 kmpl. Following this, Maruti will launch its next-generation Maruti Swift hatchback and Dzire sedan in 2024 with hybrid technology.

As per the information received so far, the new generation Maruti Swift will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with Toyota’s Strong Hybrid technology. Following the next-gen Maruti Swift hatchback and Dzire sedan, Maruti will also launch the MPV version of the Toyota Innova Highcross. However, Maruti is expected to launch the MPV version of its Toyota Innova Hicross around Diwali 2023.

The car is built on Toyota’s global TNGA-C platform. It will also be built in a front wheel drive layout. The car will feature a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, digital driver display, 10-inch infotainment system, wireless connectivity, ventilated and powered seats, dual-zone climate control, row of powered seats with ottoman function.

The main safety features include automatic emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and ATAS technology for the first time in a Maruti car. In terms of performance, the engine churns out 186 PS of power and 206 Nm of torque mated to an ECVT automatic gearbox.
