Tomorrow on September 30, director Mani Ratnam’s movie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ will be released in many theaters across the world in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and English languages. On the other hand, ‘Vikram Veda’, which was released in Tamil in 2017 and directed by Pushkar Gayatri starring Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan, is currently being made in Hindi starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. Pushkar Gayatri has directed the film to be released in Hindi in Bollywood. The film is releasing tomorrow (September 30) on the same day as ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
Pushkar, the director of the film ‘Vikram Veda’, responded to the question asked whether the upcoming film ‘Vikram Veda’ will compete with the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. “Ponni’s Selvan is an epic work. It’s based on intrigues during the Chola Empire. It’s a six-volume book that I’ve read. That book has been an inspiration to every writer coming out of Chennai. It can’t compete with that film. People will watch both films. I’ll definitely watch Ponni’s Selvan.” ” He said that.
Also talking about the Hindi film ‘Vikram Veda’, the film’s director Pushkar Gayatri said, “We never felt that we were re-shooting the same scenes in Tamil. We had a long discussion while shooting each scene. We did not shoot it in the same style as in Tamil. The soul of both the films is the same. But both It will be in a different style,” he said.
