The Swiss Seismological Service at ETH Zurich (SED) has registered an earthquake in the canton of Baselland, about seven kilometers south of Liestal. The quake occurred on Saturday night at 12:08 a.m. As several news scouts reported, it was “clearly” felt.
“The earthquake woke me up, I was already sleeping,” said a news scout who lives near the epicenter. But the quake was probably still noticeable and even audible. Another news scout from Obergösgen in the canton of Solothurn said: “It sounded like a train had passed by.”
The SED states that the magnitude is around 3.2 on the Richter scale.
