Capacity building of CSOs on the EITI standard

On March 22 and 25, a capitalization workshop for the civil society project on the EITI was held in Libreville with the financial and technical support of the European Union (EU) for the benefit of associations, civil society organizations (CSOs) and communities.


First phase completed with total satisfaction of project beneficiaries with regard to the achievement of results.

“For support from the European Union for CSOs and communities involved in issues of extractive industries, therefore, transparency and the fight against corruption, it is a successful experience in view of the very strong appropriation actions by the beneficiaries of this project regarding the understanding and implementation of the EITI standard as a whole but especially in its practice at the local levell”, rejoiced, Guy René Mombo Lembomba in his capacity as Coordinator of the said project at the local level, not without thanking the European Union for the confidence placed in them and for urging other technical and financial partners to follow suit. of the EU with a view to maintaining the momentum for future action.



At the end of this workshop, a plea was launched by the actors towards the other partners for the mobilization and support of CSOs and communities in the planned actions. The issues of transparency in the extractive industries and the fight against corruption are essential.

More than a hundred CSOs, communities and associations including journalists took an active part.
