Car sales at auctions in Russia will grow by 1.5 times

Sales of used cars through online auctions will grow by about 1.5 times in 2023. Such a forecast was given to Vedomosti by the polled auction sites. At the same time, the turnover of the largest of them will grow even more, including due to an increase in the cost of cars.

In 2022, more than 20,000 used passenger cars were sold through the CarPrice platform, the turnover on them amounted to about 17 billion rubles, says the company’s development director Kirill Ivanov. According to him, in 2023, the number of cars sold through the auction is expected to grow by 50% and by 65% ​​in revenue in this segment. Approximately 95% of cars come to CarPrice from individuals.
