The mobility providers Miles and Share Now have been affected by technical problems. Users have increasingly reported problems.

The mobility providers Miles and Share Now were affected by a massive disruption on Thursday evening. Dozens of reports of disruptions were received on the “Netzwelt” portal. A message is displayed in the Share Now app: “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and are working on a solution.” The two providers work independently of each other.

On Friday morning, the apps seemed to be working again, and the “Netzwelt” portal also reported no more disruptions from the early hours of the morning. By midnight, the number of disruption reports had already decreased again.

A Miles employee told t-online on Thursday evening that the server at an IT partner had been down “for several hours”. This led to the problem that cars could not be locked properly – and could therefore no longer be rented. However, he estimated that the problem only affected about five percent of the fleet.

As a t-online reporter reported in the evening, numerous cars from the service providers were parked at Berlin’s BER airport – but were not shown as available in the providers’ apps. A 26-year-old who had just arrived from Croatia told t-online: “I just want to go home. The day has already been long, and now it’s going to be even longer.”

The apps allow you to rent cars for a short period of time, but there are also offers for longer periods, such as a few days. The providers are particularly active in large cities.
