Doha: A young man of Asian descent has been arrested for vehicle theft. The Home Ministry’s Criminal Investigation Division has arrested a man for stealing valuables from inside vehicles, including cars, parked in various parts of the country. The special team was formed after receiving complaints that valuables were being stolen from vehicles. The team found the accused, arrested him and handed him over to the authorities for further action. Theft items were also recovered from him.
During cross-examination, he admitted that the practice was to steal from cars whose doors were not properly locked. The home ministry has requested that valuables in parked cars be kept out of sight and that the doors be closed. Vehicles should not be parked in isolated areas. The Home Ministry said that in case of any suspicious situation, the helpline number 999 can be contacted.
