Carabineros reported that members of the 52nd Rinconada Police Station in Maipú managed to recover the wheelchair that was stolen from Paralympic athlete Alberto Abarzawho was the victim of a door slam in the company of his 13-year-old daughter.

“Five boys, four got out (of a car) with firearms, very violent. They moved the door, they opened my daughter’s door, they started pulling on it, hitting me. The only thing I did was look at my daughter, see that she was okay, that she got out of the car quickly,” the athlete recalled to T13.
Along with this, Abarza made a call to recover his wheelchair, explaining that “it has special measures. It only works for me and my sport, ultralight and carbon. I really hope they can return it to me. The car doesn’t matter to me.”
