Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion release new collaboration “Bongos”
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have teamed up once again for their latest collaboration, “Bongos.” This marks their first song together since the release of their hit track “WAP” in 2020.
Both artists have recently faced their fair share of challenges and controversies. Cardi had to address accusations of her husband Offset cheating, while Megan endured the drama surrounding Tory Lanez’s trial for shooting her in the foot.
However, in “Bongos,” Cardi and Meg set aside any shade and instead opt for a tropical music video where they don giant hats. But while the visuals may be lighthearted, their lyrics certainly pack a punch. They take shots at various types of hoes, including “dusty ass hoes,” “hoes camped out in the comments,” “stiff hoes,” and “broke” hoes with promiscuous pasts.
The track’s title itself is suggestive, as Cardi raps, “My back shots sound like bongos.”
Cardi B has been actively promoting the song, even going live on social media while rubbing signed CD cases on various parts of her body, jokingly creating “scratch and sniff” versions. Hours before the release, she and Megan went live on YouTube, expressing their love for each other and the collaborative process. Megan thanked Cardi for supporting her in the “fucked up” industry, emphasizing that it always feels effortless and enjoyable when they work together.
Cardi echoed Megan’s sentiments, comparing their collaboration to holding hands on a mountain and jumping together.
