Caritas is calling for donations for the regions in Morocco and Libya affected by natural disasters. In Morocco’s earthquake zones, the population currently primarily needs tents, blankets, power generators, drinking water, food and first aid materials.

The South Tyrolean Caritas is collecting donations to support emergency aid for the women, men and children affected by the earthquake.

“The Moroccan government is currently only allowing aid from four countries, but this does not affect the international Caritas network, which is also represented in the dioceses there,” says Sandra D’Onofrio, who coordinates the South Tyrolean Caritas disaster relief effort. “We are in contact with Caritas Rabat, which has been running projects for particularly vulnerable people and people with disabilities together with Caritas Italiana for years. “Now that there is chaos and destruction there, Caritas has become an important contact point for emergency aid,” said D’Onofrio.

Anyone who would like to support emergency aid for the population affected by the earthquake in Morocco can transfer their donation to one of the following Caritas donation accounts using the password “Earthquake Morocco”.
