Leon Bürger (23) actually earns his money with football games at third division club Verl. But now he has created a second mainstay.
The son of Jena legend Henning Bürger (53) is also trying his luck in the fashion industry. Together with two friends he founded the label “Pure Intention”.

Citizens: “I really want to do something besides football. As a professional you have training every day, but after that many sit at home from 2 p.m. and gamble on the Playstation. I can’t do that, it would make me stupid!”
Almost every day he spends two or three hours working on new designs, drawing entire collections and discussing them with his business partner Oliver Wendt. The things are made in Istanbul. What Bürger is particularly proud of: “The fabric for the things was made especially for us and is unique in its composition!”
He is a designer and head of marketing at the same time
Young people with the courage to be extravagant are the target group. Citizens know that it is brutally difficult to reach them.
He takes care of marketing, develops ideas for photos and videos, for which he is also in front of the camera himself. Bürger knows how business works: “You write to influencers, other footballers. Just people who can help us with their reach.”

He brought another footballer on board: ex-central defender Deniz Dogan (43) from Eintracht Braunschweig. He keeps an eye on finances and accounting. “Because I really have no idea about it,” says Bürger and laughs.
Football still has priority. “But working on the label gives me additional fulfillment,” says Bürger.
