The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, world number 2, announced on Wednesday his participation in the Masters 1000 tournament at Paris-Bercy (October 30-November 5).

The winner of two Grand Slam tournaments (US Open 2022 and Wimbledon last summer) will also be present at the end of season Masters which will bring together the eight best players in the world in Turin from November 12 to 19. “I have good news, I feel better every day, I will play Paris-Bercy and I will be in Turin for the ATP finals», he wrote on his X account (formerly Twitter).

«I can’t wait to end the year on a high note“, he added. Suffering from his back and foot, the 20-year-old Spaniard withdrew from the ATP 500 tournament which is taking place this week in Basel, Switzerland. He has not played since his defeat in the semi-final of the Shanghai Masters 1000 tournament on October 11 against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.

Last season, Alcaraz, victim of a muscle tear in his abdomen, gave up in the quarter-finals at Bercy when he was led 6-3, 6-6 by the young Dane Holger Rune, future winner of the test.
