Carlos Sainz Signs with Williams Racing for 2025, Leaving Ferrari Behind

by time news

The transition will be confirmed on Monday.

Sainz must leave Ferrari after the current season as Lewis Hamilton joins the team ahead of the 2025 season. Recently, there has been much speculation about who would secure the services of the Spaniard.

Now it is clear that Williams has come out on top. Logan Sargeant will therefore be leaving the team.

– I am very happy to announce that I am going to Williams Racing from 2025 onwards. It is no secret that this year’s driver market has been exceptionally complex for various reasons, and that it took me some time to announce my decision, Sainz said in a statement.

– I am absolutely sure that Williams is the right place for me to continue my F1 journey, and I am extremely proud to join such a historic and successful team, where many of my childhood heroes raced and made their mark on our sport, he added.

The Spaniard says the goal is to lift Williams back to where the team belongs at the top of the standings. He calls it a challenge he embraces with excitement and positivity.

– Carlos has proven time and again that he is one of the most talented drivers in the field, says team principal James Vowles.

Sainz will form the Williams lineup alongside Alex Albon next season.
