The Danish brewing concern Carlsberg Group announced the termination of investments in Russia. The concern also stopped export shipments to the address of the Russian “daughter” – the brewing company “Baltika”.

“The Carlsberg Group has taken the decision to immediately stop new investments in Russia, as well as exports from other Carlsberg Group companies to Baltika Brewing Company in Russia,” Carlsberg said. The company pledged to comply with all imposed sanctions and stated that it would continue to assess the situation in relation to its business in the Russian Federation.

Carlsberg owns Baltic Beverages Holding, the largest (85%) shareholder of the Russian brewing concern Baltika (beer under the Carlsberg brand is produced under license at Baltika’s Russian breweries).

After the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the West began to impose new sanctions. On March 2, it became known that the largest beer producers in the Czech Republic stopped deliveries to Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.
