A one-year-old baby was killed today (Saturday) after being hit by a vehicle in Kabul in the Galilee region. She was fatally wounded and evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where she was pronounced dead after undergoing resuscitation attempts.
Preliminary investigation of the incident revealed that the toddler crawled from the door of her home located on the side of the road, and was hit by the passenger vehicle. Police traffic inspectors arrived at the scene, detained the offending driver, a 27-year-old resident of the area, and began investigating the circumstances of the accident.
MDA paramedic Eddie Zugot, who was present at the scene of the accident, said: “We saw the baby unconscious with no breathing and no pulse, she suffered a head injury. We provided her with medical treatment and performed resuscitation operations on her while evacuating her to the hospital in a critical condition. “
According to data from the Organization Before Child Safety, this is the sixth case this year of child mortality in an accident in the vehicle environment. Over the past five years (2017-2021) 45 children have been killed in accidents in the vehicle environment, 87% of them are children from Arab society.
