Carnage on the roads: 13 deaths on the roads since Tuesday

Two pedestrians, aged 40 and 50, were killed in the early morning (Friday) by being hit by a vehicle near the Yad Mordechai intersection on Route 4. The two crossed the road to provide assistance to the victims of another accident on the spot. An MDA team evacuated to the Barzilai hospital three injured people from the accident that happened earlier on the spot.

MDA medic Eliyahu Shukron and MDA paramedic Alyssa Krant, who arrived at the scene, said: “It was a very serious and complex accident, the place was very dark, we saw two crushed vehicles, each of which had a driver, they were fully conscious and walking around, we gave them Medical treatment and we evacuated them to the hospital as they are suffering from bruises and their condition is defined as moderate. On the road in both lanes at a distance from the vehicles, there were two men, one about 40 years old and the other about 50 years old, who were hit by passing vehicles when they crossed the road to help in an accident between 2 vehicles, with no signs of life and we had to pronounce them dead on the spot.” .

Shoshana Glostein, a resident of Ofakim in her 30s, and her 7-year-old daughters Chaya-Sara and 2-year-old Hanna were killed in the bus accident in Jerusalem yesterday. One of the dead is Gabriel Barda, 65 years old from the settlement of Ornit. A short time before, Mohammad Khamarsha, a 25-year-old motorcyclist from Kfar Qara, was killed in an accident on Route 65. Three other people were injured in the accident.

On Wednesday, Avoni Barkat, a resident of Beit Hanina, was killed in a car accident at the Ben Zion interchange in Jerusalem. Barkat was stopped on the side for inspection by the police car, and a truck passing by on the road collided with them. Avoni’s death was determined on the spot.

On Tuesday night, a 70-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a bus that lost control on Jeremiah Street in Jerusalem. A few hours earlier, at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, a cyclist in his 30s who was hit by a truck in an accident in Rishon Lezion was pronounced dead.
