Carolin Niemczyk and Daniel Grunenberg, known as Glasperlenspiel, married in the summer. The singer revealed to t-online what it feels like to now be husband and wife.
Carolin Niemczyk and Daniel Grunenberg told Vogue magazine that they wanted to go on a romantic honeymoon through Canada as a couple in October. t-online was all the more surprised to have met the singer at the Bunte New Faces Award.
In the interview, she revealed that the honeymoon cannot be realized until next year due to scheduling reasons. “We’re currently working on an EP. There will definitely be new music coming from us and we’re currently in the studio a lot.”
The duo has been making music under the band name “Glasperlenspiel” since 2010 and the two have been in a relationship since 2006. After a rather unromantic and spontaneous marriage proposal, they said yes in the summer. “Being married now doesn’t really feel any different, but it’s still very nice,” said the 34-year-old.
“We still look back fondly on the wedding, on our beautiful celebration in the south of France. It was just as perfect for us as it was. We enjoyed it very much and still draw a lot of strength from it.”
For a long time, Carolin Niemczyk did not feel ready to enter into marriage. That changed as I got older. “At some point the time came when I realized that it was cool for me. I feel grown up enough to take a step like that. It’s not that long and it’s still unusual, but still very nice to now be able to say: ‘Daniel is my husband.'”
