Caroline Garcia easily qualifies for the final of “her” tournament in Lyon

It’s a home final that awaits Caroline Garcia this Sunday. The Frenchwoman, who grew up in the Lyon metropolis, quietly won against Colombian Camila Osorio (6-2.6-2). It is an expeditious victory which allows the 5th in the world to be in the final of “her” tournament, of which she is an ambassador.

After quickly taking the lead in the first set, and again breaking in the second set, the Frenchwoman did not flinch when her opponent got a break point. In just 1 hour and 11 minutes of play, Caroline Garcia finally made short work of the 73rd in the world.

“I hope to go all the way”

“For me, it’s a dream to be in the final here and to be able to share this joy with the Lyon public. I hope to go until the end of the week, ”she reacted after the meeting. “It was a great match against a young player who has been confident since the start of the year. I managed to step up this week and deliver a solid match today,” added the Frenchwoman.

At 29, and having been through the best period of her career since last year, this is the first time that Caroline Garcia has qualified for the WTA 250 final in Lyon. This Sunday, she will face the American Alycia Parks, 79th in the world. In case of victory, she would offer her 12th career title, three months after her coronation at the Masters.
