The Council meeting was thus dedicated to ruling on points included in the agenda, namely the finance law (LF-2024), the validation of the 2024 budget of the CGEM and the proposal for appointment to the Council of Administration of new agents as well as new Presidents of Business Councils, indicates the CGEM in a press release.
On the occasion of the opening of this CA, the President of the CGEM, Chakib Alj, returned to the priorities which prevailed during the formulation of the CGEM’s proposals and requests for amendments for the LF-2024, as well as that the stages of contribution of the Confederation to the development of the latter, since February 2023, reports the same source.
As part of a democratic debate, the CGEM issues recommendations which go in the direction of the construction of a strong economic fabric capable of actively contributing to the positive momentum that our country is experiencing thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, through the promotion of private investment in sectors with high added value and job creation, underlines the press release.
The CGEM recognizes and welcomes the efforts made, since the government took office, to revitalize the private sector in a difficult situation, and to continue to support it through concrete, rapid and effective measures in order to stimulate the role of the undertaken in the positive socio-economic dynamic experienced by the Kingdom.
In addition, Mr. Alj reiterated the Confederation’s attachment to partnership and public-private dialogue as levers for achieving objectives for the good and progress of the country, specifying that “the Confederation will always be, for the Executive , a frank, sincere, reliable and constructive partner”.
Furthermore, the CA approved the Budget of the Confederation for the year 2024. It also proceeded to the appointment of new agents representing the CGEM to different public, semi-public or private institutions, and this in consistency with the scope of the new permanent commissions established at the start of the mandate.
The Board of Directors also appointed new members of the Board of Directors, including Aymane Taud, President of the Green Economy and Decarbonization Commission and Samira El Khamlichi, President of the Women Directors Club.
Finally, the CGEM Board of Directors approved the appointment of Business Council Presidents. Among them, Mia Lahlou Filali, as President of the Morocco-Austria Business Council, Driss Boutti, as President of the Morocco-Netherlands Business Council, and Badr Ikken, as President of the Business Council Morocco-Germany.
