Casablanca International Marathon: A Celebration of Sport and Community
This prestigious event aims to showcase the city’s sporting and civic potential, marking the culmination of a remarkable collaboration between various institutions. The organizers emphasized, ”This event is a testament to the remarkable partnership between the municipality of Casablanca and our esteemed partners.”
The marathon, scheduled for October, promises a day of sporting celebration and civic engagement. The diverse race offerings cater to all, including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 Km, and Kids Run.
The courses, certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), will commence and conclude at the Al Amal Sports Complex. Runners of all ages, 17 and above, can participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10 Km, while the Kids Run is open to young runners aged 6 to 14.
The event highlights various landmarks of Casablanca, including Casa Finance City, Morocco Mall, and the banks of Sidi Abderahmane and Ain Sebâa. The Half Marathon follows the footsteps of the Casablanca Marathon, while the 10 km distance attracts both seasoned runners and beginners.
Beyond the competitive races, the Kids Run offers young athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents in the city’s sports district. In collaboration with the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Casablanca Settat, the organizers encourage the participation of over 500 children from the region.
Online registrations are available from August on the Casawe.ma website and will close on October 26. Participants can collect their bibs and participant kits from October 20 at the event village.
