Casablanca Stock Exchange closes in the red

At the end of a nearly stable session, the MSI 20, an index grouping the 20 most liquid values, and the Casablanca ESG 10, a thematic index which calculates the performance of the prices of socially responsible companies, lost 1.18%, to 822.08 pts and 1.28%, to 781.87 pts, respectively.

The FTSE CSE Morocco 15, composed of the 15 main values ​​classified by market capitalization, fell by 1.28%, to 9,438.49 points, and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid, which traces the performance of all liquid values ​​on the Stock Exchange, fell by 1.13%, to 8,578.78 points.

In terms of sectors, the forestry and paper index posted the strongest increase (+3.33%), followed by the pharmaceutical index (+3.16%), and the distributors index (+2.37%).

On the losing side, the building and construction materials index suffered the biggest drop (-4.07%), followed by the transport index (-3.13%), and the insurance index (-2.24%).

The overall trading volume amounted to 114.46 million dirhams (MDH) mainly on the Block market (Shares). As for the most active values, Attijariwafa Bank drained 9.94 MDH, followed by Akdital with 6.58 MDH and Itissalat Al-Maghrib with a transactional flow of 6.36 MDH.

The market capitalization amounted to 538.25 billion dirhams (MMDH).

In terms of values, Ciments du Maroc (-5.94% at 1,251 DH), Cartier Saada (-5.73% at 24.51 DH), Bmci (-5.53% at 337.2 DH), Stokvis Nord Afrique (-4.76% at 12.2 DH) and Wafa Assurance (-4.32% at 3,300 DH) suffered the biggest falls.

Conversely, the biggest increases were posted by Maghreb Oxygène (+3.96% to 253.4 DH), Sothema (+3.53% to 1,320 DH), Med Paper (+3.33% to 26.97 DH), Label Vie (+2.91% to 4,250 DH) and Disty Technologies (+1.87% to 209.85 DH).
