Casablanca: Tibu Africa launches a new 2nd chance school on the occasion of the World Day of the Adolescent Girl

Launched in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and in the presence of the governor of the Mers Sultan prefecture, the provincial director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sport Mers Sultan, the director of Dar America and Mohamed Amine Zariat, founding president of the NGO Tibu Africa.

This new school intended mainly for girls and boys, offers a rich and diversified program, aimed at developing their technical, behavioral and entrepreneurial skills, as well as ensuring permanent access to physical activity to preserve health and improving academic performance.

It also makes it possible to transform unused spaces into transformational, open and inclusive spaces that promote innovation and openness.

In the same vein, Tibu Africa affirms its commitment to supporting young girls in their personal and professional success, by launching high-impact programs and kicking off centers and schools focused on the social and economic inclusion of young girls through sport in several regions of the Kingdom.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Zariat indicated that this second chance school aims to support young girls who have dropped out of school, through the launch of programs with strong social impact focused on education, health, development of technical, behavioral and entrepreneurial skills.

“This school will benefit around 1,500 girls from the Mers Sultan prefecture and also neighboring populations in order to unlock their potential through workshops and activities led by experts from Tibu Africa and its partners,” he said.

For her part, Lichelle Outlaw, Acting Consul General of the United States, stressed that the United States diplomatic mission encourages such initiatives aimed at supporting and supporting the empowerment of girls.

She also welcomed the launch of this second chance school by Tibu Africa, as well as the efforts made by the NGO to promote the situation of girls and women in Morocco.

For her part, Malika Kna, provincial director at the Fida-Mers Sultan provincial directorate under the Ministry of National Education, declared that this school focuses on the inclusion of girls through sport, noting that it currently benefits 220 students.

This center, she added, aims to equip girls with technical, behavioral, sporting and linguistic skills, while also benefiting their mothers.

Alongside several public and private, as well as international and UN partners, Tibu Africa has always stood out with its programs aimed at the training, empowerment and development of young girls. The NGO has set up 8 centers for the empowerment of young girls through Football offering a program to support girls during the transition from childhood to adolescence, in addition to the Girls CAN initiative intended for young women and girls, and aimed at promoting employability and permanent access to physical and sporting activity.

Tibu Africa has also used sport and physical activity as a lever to provide innovative solutions in several areas such as Sexual and Reproductive Health, STEM learning, etc.

These different programs are fertile ground for sowing the seeds of a future generation of autonomous, fulfilled girls capable of supporting the Morocco of tomorrow, and contributing to its development.

The NGO Tibu Africa renews its commitment to girls who face several obstacles to development, and relies on innovation to design solutions to ensure gender equality and reduce inequalities, in total harmony with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
