/ The Iraqi national team coach, Jesus Casas, expressed, on Friday, his happiness with the performance of the national team striker, Ayman Hussein, and said that he “does not care” about the criticism being raised.
Casas spoke during the press conference he held alongside player Ayman Hussein after the end of the confrontation with Japan, which ended with the victory of the Iraqi national team (2-1) in the second round of the fourth group competitions of the 2023 Asian Cup finals.
Casas extended his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, who continues to provide support in particular to Iraqi sports.
Casas said in the press conference: I am proud of the players, and I have always placed my confidence in them. Explaining that we only achieved victory in the match, and we must forget it and think about the next match against Vietnam.
He added: We have to improve the quality of Iraqi players. Our choices were balanced in terms of combat players and skilled players to create an excellent combination, and this is what we have been keen on since we took over the duties of working with the national team, through the Gulf Cup and friendly matches, all the way to the official competitions, to show the quality and type of our players in this way.
Casas explained: Regarding the upcoming matches, we have to think separately about each match from the other, and it does not make sense for us to think from now about any upcoming opponent. We will deal with each match and stage separately. The Spaniard Casas indicated that he is happy with his players, and we hope to continue giving more in the next match, and we are keen to continue working with our owners and players.
