/ On Sunday, the coach of the Iraqi national team, Jesus Casas, described the team’s match against its Jordanian counterpart tomorrow, Monday, in the round of 16 of the Asian Cup as “difficult and will not be easy”, while he indicated that it is “stupid” to link the results of the matches to the television interviews that were held before them.

“All the teams are at a similar level, and if we want to win the tournament we have to win four matches. We will fight to win and we can win the matches,” Casas said in a press conference held today regarding the match. “But it will not be easy. If we make one mistake we may be eliminated. Saudi Arabia won against Argentina in the World Cup, but this will not be easy. We can win every match if we perform perfectly.”

He added, “Jordan’s defensive style will not worry me, and we always have different tactical methods for each opponent. Our identity is clear, offensive football that depends on possession.” He added, “We are ready for tomorrow’s match, and Jordan will also be ready. I thank the Iraqi fans who will be present tomorrow, and Jordan will have fans as well.”

Casas said that Jordan is a respectable team for sure and that the match will be like any other match, difficult and the Jordanian team will not be easy and we hope to present the same style.

He pointed out that “we will try to find solutions in the match because we rely on a different tactical style, and we are trying to control the ball and create a large number of opportunities, and I do not know what awaits us in the match,” stressing that “if we want to win all matches, we must always be twice as ready, and in football everything is possible, and if one mistake occurs, we say goodbye.”

The Iraqi national team coach continued, “The match is equal and has great opportunities. I believe that we are on the same level as Jordan, and they have an excellent coach and three dangerous scorers. We have positive elements, but Jordan also has good elements, and we have to invest the opportunities that are available to us during the match to win and move to a more important stage of the tournament.”

Asked if he would be on a TV show before facing Jordan, Jesus Casas said, “I was waiting for this question.” (Al Majlis)

He added, “Three days ago, I conducted an interview with a Spanish website, and I also conducted an interview with a newspaper in the Emirates at the hotel, and three days before our match with Japan, we conducted an interview with the Spanish Marca and an interview with a Spanish newspaper.”

“What happened? We won all the matches,” he continued.

He concluded by saying, “If we don’t win tomorrow, they will say that Casas gave an interview.”

He pointed out that “these are very stupid statements and whoever says them will intend to harm Iraq.”
