Case against 271 traders who sold eggs at high price

Colombo (News 1st) Action has been taken against 271 traders who sold eggs at high prices.

The Nuwara Eliya Authority has informed that action has been taken against the traders who sell eggs for more than 50 rupees.

The authority noted that raids are being carried out to identify those selling eggs at high prices.

Also, a case has been filed against 22 traders who had hidden the eggs.

It is noteworthy that a gazette has been published by the Nuwara Eliya Authority stating that eggs should be sold at prices between 43 and 45 rupees.
