CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu police have registered a case against a social worker for coming to see Vetrimaran’s film Vithuthalai with her children. The case is against a social activist named Valarmati. The reason for the police action is that they came with minor children to watch the film which received an A certificate.

The incident took place at Inox Theater in Chennai yesterday. The scenes of violence were the reason why Vituthalai got an A certificate. Valarmati told the police that she decides what her children want to watch. The film is about the pain of fellow beings. No one can stop them from seeing it. How many pictures with bad dance are displayed here. They asked if the children did not see it.

Valarmati and the children were stopped by the theater staff when they bought tickets and entered the theater. She said she then spoke to the theater manager for about 20 minutes. Then when he entered the theater, he saw other people who had come with children. When I was in my seat, the manager came and spoke threateningly and took photos. The movie started ten minutes late. Valarmati said that while the show was going on, the film was suddenly stopped and the police came.

The footage of the incident has gone viral on social media. Suri and Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Vithutalai’ was released last Friday. The film is getting good response in Tamil Nadu.
