The trial before the Three-member Criminal Court of Rhodes of a merchant accused of importing products bearing a foreign brand and accepting proceeds of crime was postponed to June 4, 2025.
During a check by Athens Airport Customs officials, he was caught to have imported from Hong Kong into Greece watchmaking products that verbally and graphically bore the counterfeit mark of the evacuee company with the name “Daniel Wellington AB”, which also manufactures watches.
In particular, he was found to have imported 29 watches, 29 packaging boxes and 29 bags that illegally bore the trademark of the selling company, which is protected under Law 4679/2020.
The damage caused to the plaintiff company amounts to 4,350 euros, while there is exploitation of the trademark on a commercial scale, since the defendant maintains a commercial store selling jewelry and watches.
The case is handled by the lawyers Mr. Polyxeni Hatzigianni and Stelios Alexandris.
