India’s 74th Republic Day was celebrated across the country last Thursday. Republic Day was celebrated by hoisting the national flag with a parade of students in schools and colleges.

In this case, the raising of religious slogans during the Republic Day celebrations at a university in Uttar Pradesh has caused controversy.

Aligarh Muslim University is located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Republic Day celebrations were held here. During the Republic Day celebration, some students of the National Students Corps (NCC) stood in front of the flagpole and chanted “Allah Hu Akbar” to indicate that God is the best.

While the related video was released and went viral, a video of another group of students raising slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Mataram in front of the university campus also went viral.

NCC stood in front of the national flag pole. Vahidushaman, a first-year BA student, has been suspended by the university for chanting religious slogans in his clothes. Also, the police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
